Brazilianite

Sodium Aluminum Phosphate Hydroxide - NaAl3(PO4)2(OH)4
The name "Brazilianite" was termed from its origin country of Brazil. Just as a person from Brazil is a Brazilian :)

Brazilianite is a gemmy yellow Phosphate mineral that was named to honor Brazil due to its tremendous production of attractive minerals.

Brazilianite crystals can be up to 12 cm in length. Brazilianite can easily be mistaken for another mineral such as topaz, quartz , beryl , apatite and scapolite because of its color and brightness. It is one of the only phosphate minerals to be used as a serious gemstone because of its elevated hardness (one of the harder phosphates). The brazilianite is cut for gemmology and its value is due to color and brightness. It is relatively new to the mineral markets and is still not well known to everybody.
