Celestite is a fairly common mineral. It is generally ranges in color from white, to yellow, to heavenly blue, but can appear in a wide variety of colours. Celestite is a member of the sulphates group of minerals and gemstones. Celestite, mined for strontium and its salts, is used in fireworks and flares because of its ability to burn with a bright red flame.
