Tom
Ashworth's Prospectors Cache - I started prospecting for gold
in 1978 using a home built wooden sluice box and a gold pan. Didn't
know much about mining back then, but had a lot of fun and caught
a very bad case of "GOLD FEVER".
Dive
For Treasure - In 1492 Columbus discovers the "New World"
and a glittering fortune in gold, silver, jewels and precious gems.
Over the next 300 years, Spanish treasure galleons sail from New World
mines carrying a staggering $10 billion worth of cargoes to fill the
coffers of the King of Spain. During this period, numerous treasure
fleets suffered their fates in the torrents of full-blown hurricanes,
striking without notice. Today, underwater explorers claim that the
skeletal remains of shipwrecks may be located every 500 yards in the
Caribbean and along Florida's east coast, otherwise known as the "Gold
Coast". Of this $10 billion (17th century value) in precious
cargo, researchers and historians claim that $500 million was lost.
To date, only 10% has been recovered.
Treasure
Hunting America - Most of these old treasures are from the mid
1800's! They are called Corkers, Aqua Medicines, & Bitters Bottles.
I have ancient Homeopathic vials, other embossed "Graduated"
medicine bottles and some glass stoppers.
Jacque's
Underwater Treasure Hunting - The 1715 Fleet sank in a hurricane
on July 31st of that year and has been salvaged in modern times since
the early 1960's by various treasure hunters. Only six of the twelve
ships have been found in the shallow waters between Fort Pierce and
Sebastian Inlet, Florida.
Oak
Island Treasure - Oak Island covers an area of just 140 acres
and is located off the eastern coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. It has
long been the site of much speculation for treasure hunters worldwide,
all ensnared by the promise of certain wealth. Many theories are in
existence ranging from a pirate’s bounty of riches to the final
resting place of the Holy Grail.
Oak
Island - Six lives have been lost and millions of dollars spent
trying to uncover the secrets of what has become known as the Money
Pit. Still, no one knows what lies at the bottom, who built it or
why. There are numerous theories but little proof.
