Vanadinite is a lead mineral colored by vanadium and thus typically bright-red to orange, less commonly gray or brown. It has a high specific gravity which makes this a heavy mineral. It is a very soft mineral with a Moh’s hardness of 3 which makes it as soft as rock salt, thus unsuitable for any kind of jewelry.
